During the 1991 pilgrimage season, a small beginning was made by a group of Ayyappa devotees in Faridabad Sector 3 and surrounding areas to celebrate the Ayyappa Pooja. The active participation and intense interest of the devotees expanded the scope of this Ayyappa Sewa Samiti. As a result, the Shri Ayyappa Sewa Samiti (Regd) was registered under the Societies Act, and subsequently, the committee took a step forward with the aim of constructing an Ayyappa temple in Faridabad Sector-3. Over the following pilgrimage seasons, poojas, bhajans, annadanam, and other activities were conducted on a large scale.

With the dedication of the managing committee of Shri Ayyappa Sewa Samiti (Regd) and the wholehearted support of the devotees and well-wishers, the first stage of the Ayyappa Swamy shrine was completed. Prana Pratishtha ceremonies were performed at the temple with the installation of the deity, under the guidance of the appointed priests during the Aswathi Nakshatra in the Malayalam month of Meenam at the Thazhaman Mutt.

There are many temples dedicated to Lord Ayyappa in Kerala, and the pooja rituals here are conducted based on the practices followed at the famous and sacred Sabarimala temple. The influence of Ayyappa Swamy, as a form of the Kali Yuga deity, spread beyond the borders of Kerala, and new Ayyappa temples began to emerge not only in Southern and Northern India but also in other countries. The Ayyappa temple in Sector-3, Faridabad, Delhi-NCR, is one such temple that stands outside Kerala.

In the temple, Maha Ganapati, Shri Krishna, Parameshwaran, and Hanuman Swamy are worshiped as subsidiary deities, and there is also a Nagakavu for the serpent deities. In April 2010, a surrounding wall and flagstaff were installed in the temple. To conduct cultural programs, the Shabari Auditorium was completed in March 2017.

Shri Ayyappa Sewa Samiti (Regd) has become an organization that promotes unity and solidarity among people, irrespective of caste, religion, or region. Over the last four decades, the Samiti has been an active presence in charitable, social, cultural, and spiritual fields. From the very beginning to the present day, we extend our love, gratitude, and best wishes to all the devotees of Ayyappa who have supported the temple’s development and continue to stand with the committee in their endeavors.
